Since 1933, Fort Smith has been home to one of Arkansas’ most exciting rodeos. Each year cowboys from all over the world compete for one of largest prize purses in Arkansas. This year marks the eighty second anniversary of the rodeo. You’ll see some the rankest bulls and broncs in America. Events include Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Barrel Racing, Wild Horse Racing and Steer Wrestling. 2016 National Anthem contest is back
A vocal talent competition designed to shine the spotlight on area singers will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Kay Rodgers Park in Fort Smith, AR on the Choctaw Casino stage. The Old Fort Days Superstar Anthem Contest will give local singers the opportunity to sing “The National Anthem” at this year's Old Fort Days Rodeo.

Mutton busting is one of the most popular events at the Old Fort Days Rodeo, where nightly a group of kindergarten and first graders don their best western finery, slap on a helmet and protective vest and try and hang onto a runaway sheep for as long as they can.
